Depression
Most of us have periods of worry and unhappiness and this is normal in every day life. The problem occurs when these feelings last for a prolonged period of time where it begins to not only affect patients short term mood but also their quality of life long term.
If these feelings last for longer than a period of two weeks it is advisable to seek assistance.
There are various levels of depression ranging from mild to severe and with one in ten adults in the UK experiencing one form of depression in their lives, statistics show that it is a problem we need to be aware of.
There are a number of symptoms that may mean a bout of depression and these include:
-
a constant low or unhappy mood
-
loss of sex drive
-
lack of energy and poor concentration
-
anxiety
-
sleeping trouble
-

-
a loss of interest in hobbies and activities
