Ear Suction
Suction of the ear canal is performed using a microscope under direct sight of the consultant. The procedure is designed to clear wax and debris from the ear canal.
The ear canal extends from the outside ear down to the ear drum and can be infected and blocked with wax, debris or excess skin.
The procedure will not require any anaesthetic and many describe the experience as 'tingly' and ticklish.
You will be able to return home the day of the procedure with little or no after effects post the procedure.
Please do discuss any questions you may have with your consultant prior to the procedure.
This procedure may not be covered by the medical insurance policy but patients are advised to check with the provider prior to any treatment.
If you are paying for your own treatment all costs will be discussed and explained prior to any treatment taking place. This will be confirmed in writing along with any surgeon fees, anaesthetist fees and hospital charges prior to admission.
