Face Lift

Unfortunately one of the few things can't be controlled is the ageing process and with many women looking to stay younger and fitter, a face lift is a growing market.

The procedure is simply designed to remove tired, heavy and aged features to make you look younger. Not only does the procedure have obvious cosmetic benefits but new found self confidence and esteem are often the case.

A detailed discussion with your consultant would be strongly advised to answer any questions you may have and to make sure you are knowledgeable about and committed to the procedure. Any form of cosmetic surgery must be thought about prior to any treatment.

The facelift is now a very common procedure throughout the world and technology and equipment have been continuously developed to provide The Sefton Suite with the finest facilities available.

The aim is to raise and tighten the loose skin around the neck, jaw, chin and cheeks. The consultant will make two small incisions on either side of the face and then lift the skin to remove any excess tissue, the skin is then tightened and the incision closed.

The facelift is a fairly intricate procedure on a very sensitive area of the body so each patient should expect a period of discomfort and pain after the operation. Your consultant will advise on the use of painkillers at this time.

Your head may be wrapped in bandages and you will stay in the hospital for a period of one or two nights. Scarring will be minimal.

Your consultant will advise you on the period of time to stay off work and this will usually be around one week with no strenuous exercise for a minimum of eight weeks after.

If you are paying for your own treatment all costs will be discussed and explained prior to any treatment taking place. This will be confirmed in writing along with any surgeon fees, anaesthetist fees and hospital charges prior to admission.
