Haematology

Haematology is the area of medicine which deals specifically with blood formation and diseases which occur when the formation breaks down.

At The Sefton Suite our Consultant Haematologists are experienced in cutting edge technologies that include stem cell transplants and bone marrow transplants.

The hospital is extremely well equipped to deal with all blood related problems and has the equipment and expertise to put all of our patients minds at rest.

Possible problems may include:

• pulmonary embolism
• deep vein thrombosis
• bleeding problems that may affect surgery

Diseases are quickly identified in most cases and your consultant will explain all of the issues and treatments relating to the particular problem, in some cases referring the patient directly to another specialism within the hospital.
