Musculo-Skeletal Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a diagnostic technique to visually inspect the internal structures of the body using high frequency waves including the muscles, tendons, vessels, joints and organs for pathology.
The process is regularly used on pregnant women to check the unborn baby and is completely harmless to patients.
Ultrasound is often used by phyiotherapists and works by waves bouncing back from solid surfaces or surfaces with a different density to the other parts of the structure therefore pin-pointing any potential problem.
Our consultants will discuss the process with each patient in their initial consultation.
